The Amsterdam-based fashion label Scotch & Soda has just landed in the UAE. The book catches up with Jean Michel Bolly, group manager for retail Alshamsi Holdings, the company has brought to our board to talk about fashion, clothing for men and the difference, he hopes that this new brand of filling.
What brought the Scotch & Soda and the United Arab Emirates?
When you look at the brands, we are still trying to identify a market need. We realized that there is a gap in the Dubai market for fashion clothing for men that is well made, elegant, not the mass market, but not too expensive.
What kind of clients you want to achieve?
Most brands of jeans or casual tend to offer very similar, and cut. All copy one another without an identity. Scotch & Soda is different. The brand targets the public as casual clothes clothing made love in more detail, and unusual cuts.
Scotch & Soda customers are fashion forward and follow trends, but we want to be recognized for their sophistication and their natural charm and beauty.
We invest in a product that is normally inform the best proven classic vintage styles, which are supplemented by a lot of influences from all over the world.

What are your plans in the UAE?
We plan to open five new stores in the UAE, but only in very selective in shopping malls. The next opening is planned for early July, the Dubai Mall.
